THE ORDINANCES OF THE
CHURCH BAPTISM
Every believer is to be baptized
in obedience to Christ commandment
(Matt. 28:19, 20). Baptism is
by immersion in water (Acts 8:38).
Faith in Jesus Christ is a prerequisite
to baptism. Three truths are symbolized
in the ordinance of baptism.
- It points back to the burial
and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- It reflects the death of
the old man, and the raising
of the new man in Christ.
- It expresses the hope of
every believer, a glorious resurrected
body when Christ returns.
